Cable for AMSDAP42

Hello,

I am now in possession of:

1) AMSDAP42
2) SYMBiFACE 3
3) Duke's M4 board
4) Duke's Imperium Solo joystick adapter (CPC and this must be on the same power supply in order to work so I have a splitter!)

I would like to connect SF3, M4 and Imperium Solo on my Amstrad CPC 464.
I have these CPC 464 machines:

1. (back) Schneider Computer Division, german text, ident Nr: 28577, MFRS version B
2. same as 1. but it has ident Nr: 16973, BOS 2.1 SP320 at back and no text above keyboard (this one looks strange)
3. (back) just AMSTRAD and english text, made in Korea and color keys

Being not very familiar with hardware I guess this is how I should do that:

1) put M4 and SF3 to AMSDAP42 and Imperium solo in CPC
2) connect AMSDAP42 to CPC

But I am missing a cable to connect AMSDAP42 to CPC - so I have a question:

2) Do I need additional power supply for this to work? Or anything other then setup the cards...

The cable should be well. If you use more than one card, external PSU could be needed, depends how much A you monitor delivers. Also, it can be necessary to solder wires over the amsdap switches, because the switches transfer a maximum A. Again, depends how much A you need.

Thanks, then I will order one or two of those cables.

About my PSU, I am not connected to monitor, instead I use scart rgb cable and a separate PSU:  220VAC/5VDC 3A

About how much A I need, I really don't know I just know which hardware I want to connect (and that I use this PSU I mentioned)

About  soldering wires over the amsdap switches - I would really skip this part because I am a hardware noob... Anyway, how can I know if this is needed?

I don't thing you can put together M4 and Symbiface3, it will probably cause some conflicts.

Well, 3 A is really just fine.    I do use 5V, 3A too.


How to find out if not enough power runs through switches? Well, if hardware for example suddenly stops working. If an error occurs which can not (always) be reproduced. I got the Amsdap too and I really like it, but don't know by myself if I will go with new switches, soldering or just not too much cars.
