Fellow CPCers,
In addition to EVA posted, there is also in development an Audio interface in the works. This board would be called ACAI (Amstrad CPC Audio Interface)

What this board provides is:

  • Stereo Output with 8-bit Digital To Analog conversion of the digital data.
  • MP3 decoder chip (VS1011ES) to play back MP3's.
  • Atmega128 is the base chip to interface with the CPC which runs at 20 MHz.
There is no documentation yet as this development is very much in the early stages.
The features I intend look at implementing:

  • Same features as that from the AY-3-8912.
  • Possible simulation of YM synthesizer chips.
  • Can look at the simulation of the SID chips from a C64.
  • Look into Text to speech conversion.
  • RAW audio pass though for simple audio output.
Attached if the PDF of schematic and photo of the bare board.
