LIKE! I was JUST 2 days ago thinking about exactly that. Where do you get the Centronics connectors? I didn't find an acceptable source.

just the one for the Play2CPC I already said I want one ;-) No, I mean, the 50pin Centronics in general, for other projects. I was thinking about a project, but 50 pin Centronics connectors are rare.

What I mean is that they are a custom model after four months of negotiating with the manufacturer, waiting them to be done and waiting for them to arrive (also with the condition of buying large quantities). They are not standard connectors you can buy on Aliexpress or other sites. So actually the only way to get them is from me unless you want to start all the process again by yourself.

Congratulations, you know how to search on ebay, I guess eto didn't think about that ;)

Sadly, none of those connectors will work for a compact adapter, because they are cable mounted, to begin with.

to be honest, this particular one I didn't see previously. probably because of the price, which imho is quite high.

€5 is not expensive for a 50way Centronix connector.

For information, the last Centronics connectors I have bought was 7.90€ each... Because no cheapest stock at the moment. Now, I have secure them for us and because today it is less expensive, I can't sell under.

Would be awesome to have it the other way around too.  :)
Means to get from edge to Centronics. Because a Centronics connection is way more stable, the edge connections are usually very dodgy it's enough to bump on the desk to get into troubles. Just my opinion due to experiences.  :)

What is the interrest to have Edge to Centronics adapter, except to plug this one on it? :D

If I understand well, the goal of this Centronics to edge adapter is to be able to plug all the existing expansions released for the Amstrad CPC that was not originally designed to use the Centronics connectors (dk'tronics, amstrad, ...) but that can be already connected to a standard CPC.

Have you CPC expansions using Centronics without a ribbon cable? (curious)

Well most of my (non-Mother X4) expansions plug to the CPC using the Centronics plug. That's great so far.
But at their 'end' (the far side if you want so) provides only an edge PCB. So adaptors are needed to connect another Centronics expansion at the back side of the first one.

If I understand well, that's a poor design for those expansions, having a Centronics as main connector and an edge for daisy chain. What expansions are those?

Yes, that's true. They have a Centronics plug for the CPC6128 and an 'through-bus' ending in an edge connector.
(In Germany the 6128 was sold with Centronics, and it was so reliable that they kept it for the 6128plus. Good idea imho, but also a factor of difference).
There are many of them. What I have in access here is: Dobbertin 224 KB EPROM card, Dobbertin 512 KB RAM expansion, Dobbertin HD20 Hard-disc controller, Schneider serial Interface (Z80-STI), PACE serial interface (maybe specific for Germany), BTX module and others.

Yes, the VIDI device I received recently from Germany has this arrangement.
