Post by: Misel982001 on 14:11, 29 January 14
Hello guys. Perhaps this is a stupid question but I always have it in my mind. Can someone connect to the internet with a CPC?

For native internet on the CPC, rpalmer is building a CPC TCP/IP stack with browser (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/applications/cpc-web-browser-developments-%2828-oct-2013%29/msg70114/#msg70114) and it's currently still in development.

Alternatively, you can use the CPC as a terminal and log into a linux box over a serial connection, using a RS232 or something similar like the MiniBooster (http://www.centpourcent.net/4/post/2013/08/minibooster.html).

fano done some tests to connect the CPC to the cpc-power database through the MiniBooster, list it, send requests and download DSK to write them  to a floppy.

Redbox please clarify. Is it under development and will be released?Does Symbos support Internet use? IF yes, how can the 128k CPC load pages with millions of colors?

Simple ;)

In MODE 2: INK 0,26 as background and INK 1,0 represent the millions of colours ;)

Yes, it's under development (along with an Ethernet card).  Search for posts by rpalmer (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/profile/rpalmer).

It's a text based browser, much like the Lynx Browser (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynx_%28web_browser%29) for *nix.
