Title: CPC6128 reporting write protect messages
Post by: zeropolis79 on 13:43, 22 February 14
My CPC6128 is reporting discs are write protected even with the write protect tab up and in place.

What's the best solution to this as I need to be able to format discs and copy files..

PLEASE HELP!

OK, you're not a beginner but R U sure this (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/amstrad-cpc-hardware/help-i-changed-the-drive-belt-and-now-my-disk-drive-is-suddenly-read-only/) is not the case?

Most classic CPC problem: belt needs replacement.

Second most classic CPC problem: you lost the pin while fixing the first problem.

I've already replaced the belt..

The CPC is a post 1987 model - the Amstrad logo has a stripe. I will try the other solution.

Are you using an HxC as B drive with a protected SDCard?
It may be a problem as the protected signal is faulty reported on A drive too for me. (just unprotect the SD)
