This is a device that can connect Playstation controllers to the joystick port...

Does it work on CPC's?

(I think there was something special about the joystick connector of the CPC?)

Cant see why it shouldnt work on the normal cpc range. 99% sure it wont work with the PLUS range tho as those need "genuine" amstrad joysticks.

Ive used the same joysticks on C64, Amstrad and Amiga, so shouldnt be any troubles there.

If you are looking for some PLUS compatible joysticks, try getting some GX4000 pads on ebay (or similar). Easy to get and quite common.

There was... It had the wiring for two joysticks in the one 9 pin plug, and you needed a splitter to connect a second joystick. The PSX64 should work fine. As for the Plus, they have two 9 pin connectors and it should also work fine with them. Now we just need something like Shredz for the CPC!

Unfortunately the CPC joystick port does not have +5v power supply like other DB9 machines. So devices needing this power will not work. This is the case for sega megadrive pads, and also for playstation adapters. You have to rewire the 5v inside the adapter and add an Y wire to get it between the CTM and the CPC, on the power connector.

PulkoMandy said it. Lots of 80s joysticks also had a "CPC" option, though I think this referred to the autofire snafu, but then again I was thinking that if the sticks of the era were de facto set up to work with the CPCs, wouldn't that be dangerous for other machines?
