Hi i'm looking for a circuit diagram or service sheet for the Amstrad MP1 and MP2 TV modulators?
Kind regards
Zack

There is a service "manual" for the Schneider MP-1, German / English.

Many thanks to eto for the great link and what a great looking site :D  The reason I'm looking for these diagrams is  I recently watched a Youtube video by GadgetUK164 who recaped his MP1 and added BWACK's C64Saver module and I'm currently looking to recap both my MP1 and MP2 and possibly add the same power saver module
Thanks again eto
Regards
zack

I'm looking to do something similar with my MP-1 - I wanted to adapt it for RGB (or at the very least composite) as the RF modulator in it was dead - It'd be nice to have it working at all again, at the very least.

The C64 Saver is pointless in a CPC power supply. The CPC supply uses 78xx regulators that fail open, ie: all failures end in no voltage being sent, not an over-voltage.

Do you still get the 5V out of it?

If the 1377P is still working, you can get out Composite Video with a very simple mod. https://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/amstrad-cpc-hardware/mp1-composite-question/

Composite video is still pretty bad compared to RGB, so a Scart cable would make even more sense and is as simple as connecting the RGB + sync lines 1:1, and making sure pin 16 receives 3V:

Yep, it's a nice solid voltage even under load, but the RF board inside it was completely shot to hell and unsalvageable. I have a very fancy SCART lead that I intend to use for it though - but I've no time to tinker just yet. Could I reasonably get 3v out of the power side of the MP-1? I'm not as electronically inclined as I once was though so i'd probably need help getting it sorted.

If the 3V is just for the SCART then all you need is a resistor and a 3V Zener diode because the SCART doesn't pull any currents worth talking about.

These are the capacitors ratings inside my MP-2 can anyone give me recommendations on choosing good quality replacements that will help ensure its longevity
Thanks
