YABA - very rusty old 464

Hi,
So I've got my hands on this 464, check the pictures. It was so mucky when I got it, I've since taken it apart and given it a good clean and I can now touch it without feeling sick! =) The red light comes on, but I get no output / black screen (I'm using a scart kit from retroshack). Pressing delete does not yield a sound. The tape deck happily rewinds and fast forwards.  I have a multimeter, soldering iron and a lot of patience, I've ordered 10 RAM IC that were recommended elsewhere on this forum.
Now, the 464 came with a non standard power supply that was being used with it, it says 6v on it, but when I tested it, it was kicking out 10v - will this have killed my board?

Should I just put this 464 aside and use it for spares, can it be saved? I've learnt so much already, I'm willing to spend a bit of money on new IC and sockets etc and could have access to a decent oscilloscope when I get back to work*.
Thanks guys, I've spend some time on here already and posted a couple of times, this is a great community. My goal is to actually play a few games and have a go typing up some games from basic code in magazines etc and just generally relive a fun part of my youth.

You didn't mention before that it was in THAT state! The RAMs are probably fine, but it has a serious rust problem. It'd consider it fully saveable, but it's a lot of work. If you don't want to go to the bother, send it over and I'll bring it back to life.

So the 10v adapter that was used to test it wont have killed it? I might have to send it to you if I want to play Xanagrams before Christmas!

Even 6V isn't good for a CPC. The PSU probably doesn't output 10V though, you most likely measured the voltage without a load attached. Send it over if you like.

My CPC got killed with 12V. Everthing survived, but RAM was blown completely. Every chip.
