Just won a 6128+ on Ebay!

Hey all,

So I have my 4th Amstrad machine, the 6128+ on the way from France. The Ebay auction showed that it was working & even came with Fire & Forget 2. At only $160AU WITH shipping it's a hell of a bargain. I've been wanting one of these since I was 12 years old.

It was shown to be working, but some of the French used in the description doesn't translate well with Google Translate & I don't speak French. I was wondering if someone could decode this for me!

"Seul le bouton M/A à été shunter car ne fonctionnant plus, donc pour éteindre la bête, suffit de couper l Alim."

Am I correct in thinking that the power button might not be working? If so that should be an easy fix, but at that price I was never going to NOT buy it :)

Yes, the power switch has been shorted.
Usually a non working power switch just requires a bit of contact cleaning. (Open, clean, close ;) )

It is but I assume it's an easy fix

EDIT: Just looked it up & feel stupid... of COURSE it relies on the cartridge. I already had one & thought I was good to go, but the existing one I have is a green French one already :(

Oh well, I can just modify one with the English ROM unless someone here has a spare yellow cartridge they're happy to sell.

Don't modify. Order a c4cpc and have any keymap you want.

I've got one ordered for the next batch, but I would like one anyway. I'll have 2 French ones when it arrives, & I have a friend with an EPROM burner. Problem solved!
