Title: my original 3 "floppy problem

I just change the drive belt and I have some problems the floppy read but is not possible to format!!!!
any ideas about ??? can be format in vendor but not in data with discology 5,1 also not possible to copy

nop my drive haze an optical sensor and can be format in vendor but not in data very strange!!!!!
but anyway a big thanks to all cpc friends.

Dodgy disk? Have you tried more than one disk?

When you format in Vendor / System format, then the DIRectory is located on the 3rd track, but on Data format it's on the 1st track, so I assume that your track 0 on that disc is bad.


Try another disc.  :)

Try to use software like "Multi mark" which is able to format and check if there is any defective sectors....

Or... since CP/M format seems to work use BD04.COM it does a thorough check of a disc.[nb]Can't upload it from here, I'm at work. But it should be in some other thread.[/nb]
