Has anyone put a cm14 to use with other systems? I'd like to use one of my original Xboxes on the old school screen for 8 bit emulation, would anyone know if a direct lead can be made or if I need to get, build, or persuade someone to make for me a scart -> CM14 cable and the use a standard Xbox scart cable as well. Hopefully someone will offer to build a direct cable

You'll have to make sure the Xbox is feeding 50Hz or things might get interesting.

Personally the best thing for any CRT is landfill. Horrid things.

Most 8 bits look best on a crt. The Cpc included.

I agree that they look better on the CRT ;)

Anything with RGB SCART should work, but you will need it to be 50Hz I think. What happens if you put 60Hz into a CTM?

after I have sourced the cable (maplin do not stock female scart connectors or 8pin in line din sockets.) So I guess it's an rs order for both of those. I'll find out lol. I guess mad scrolling lol.

There's a small black knob at the backside of the monitor, that allows you to use up to about 75 Hz.[nb]Not talking about the duration of the H-Hold here.[/nb]

The same happens as if the CPC does it. Just adjust the picture with the black knob a the back of the monitor.

I have used the CTM 640 with an Amiga 1200.

:) I guess some pinouts and wires are called for. A straight cable from Xbox to cm14 will be made, that way I can avoid the female scart inline socket. To buy therefore..... Xbox scart lead, 8 pin din inline socket.

For the Xbox 360, PAL50 was supported but almost every game ever was PAL60.

Using my Atari ST/STe with my 644...

Ooooh, I've just found a 3 way in line scart switchbox in my assortment of random cable cr*p. Chop the plug off, replace it with an in line female 8 pin din socket and I have a 3 channel scart cable for the cm14. Best option yet. DC, Xbox emulator collection and plus machines all at the touch of a button on the same monitor.

Edit: 3 inline female 8 pin din sockets ordered. 99cent each with free delivery... probably see them sometime in November. One for this project, 1 for my CPC 6128->CM14 adaptor (The cover on that one has split so looks Messy!) and a spare, in case my Ham fisted soldering skills let me down.

The Xbox is also likely to send a true composite signal rather than just a sync, so you might need a sync extractor like the LM1881 when using it with the CPC monitor.

Also, I have a vague recollection that the sync signal output by the CPC is TTL level, so the monitor might not work with the 0v - 0.1v swing that you'd see on a black composite signal.
