I'm looking at replacing my existing Gamepad with something (not a joystick) more sturdy.
Are any of the controllers for other systems compatible with the Plus?
Thanks,
Peter
MSX Joypads are compatible, only the 2 button (A e B) are inverted.
This (https://www.ebay.it/itm/VIC-20-C-64-C64GS-Controller-pad-compatible-Joypad-joystick-commodore/183482770861?hash=item2ab86ce5ad:g:pFwAAOSwYmZXJQLg:rk:5:pf:0) user on eBay realizes joypad for MSX/Amstrad/Atari/Commodore.
Contact him.
I bought from him various joypad for C64 and MSX (compatibile with CPC)
I can second DanyPPC's post and recommend that adapted NES-style gamepad off eBay.
I bought one around 18 months ago, both fire buttons work fine and it's my preferred way of playing a lot of game (particularly those that will let me redefine jump to one of the buttons).
Ordered.
Thanks for the info!
Cheers,
Peter
Tried it out on Sunday night and it seemed much more responsive than the Amstrad original. Whether this is due to the age of the original gamepad I cant say but it was definitely smoother in operation.
You can also change the rubber inside the plus pad, the spare parts new for the nes that are sold in alliexpress match perfectly the amstrad parts. it only cost a litte few e.
What I did was to get a nice joypad and rewired it, not it got two fire buttons and ... works ;-)
