SLG Scart. It gives just Scanlines to RGB SCART computers. It`s easy to install and to configure.
For those who are finally interested especially for people who uses CPC on LCD TV like me (I know the purists will tell me bouuuuhhh shame on you!!)
I found it on the web for thirty euros .. it is a cheap model. : D

Of course there are much more efficient models that exceed 100 euros and above .. especially for fans of arcade games ..
It has the advantage of being easy to use; you plug the cpc scart into it  before connecting it to the TV and to AC via a small AC Adaptor 5v provided.

It is equipped with an on / off switch and a rotary slider to vary the intensity of scanlines.
I found that stuff could be nice for owners of Amstrad to have a small gadget like that for cheap ..

So you decide it. Make your choice.

I'm not into the whole scanline thing myself, but that's quite a good result for a €30 device. This could even be sandwiched before an S-Video converter if you happen to use one. Is it open source hardware? I could make an addon version that plugs onto my S-Video adapter.

Actually this circuit do nothing special. It devides horizontal frequency by 2,  modulates RGB video with H/2, enhancing brighteness every second line. Personally I'm not too enthusiastic of such  circuits... ::)

Bryce

That's a clever way of doing it cheaply and gives a relatively decent result. For anything better you'd have to pay quite a bit more.

The Last Bandit

Its a variation on this circuit.

mmmonkey VGA Scanlines

I hardwire them to the back of LCD's for use in arcade bartops and the like, cost about €2 if you omit the pots.

Bryce

The one above is slightly more complicated. I can see an LM1881 on the PCB which that one doesn't have.

The Last Bandit

Sync stripper added to it most likely. The cheap'n'nasty version works quite well.

Here is the seller SCART, SLG, Scanlines - ArcadeForge
I don't think that it's a open source harware..
And as i said it's a cheap version of scanlines generator .. if you want a better result you need to put some extra money..  ;D

Hum a german discussion forum.. i don't speak german  ??? good luck with that lol
The perfect stuff would be to have this kind of material into a scart cable directly with a small case plug with it ..

That's ok, I speak German :) But I think a better solution would be to make it as a plug directly from the CPCs Monitor port, that way you can add scanlines no matter what type of further connection / protocol you use.

Is this not CPC-specific then?  I mean could I use it with my Amiga 1200 as well?

Nope, it would work on any computer that outputs RGBS as far as I can see, including the A1200. I might just build one and give it a go. I think I have all I need here.

If you have an Indivision Aga Mk2 You can have the scanlines by software..  ;)

And if you use a CRT you get the scanlines for free  :P

Bryce

Yeah, but I checked the CRT schematics and I can't find which part of the circuit is creating them :D It must be magic!

Well, not quite free.  It costs extra weight and bulk hence why I don't have CRT TV's anymore (well... I do have a 14 inch one in the storage but only til I figure out where to get rid of it).  I still have my CPC colour monitor (and green one in storage again til someone wants to take if off me) but I want my CPC to connect to my HDTV for convenience (and the bigger size screen) and I really like scanline effects.  :)

Oooh me likey.

Anyone knows if there's a more complete solution than SCART only? I can see me using this with my MegaDrive+RGB out... Or, also, with my MiST+VGA.

Where's the scart version?  I only see the VGA one and the expensive one.

I just realised the MegaDrive cable goes from RGB to SCART so I could use the cheap one :) So I guess that's taken care of, I wonder if the VGA version would work with the MiST...
