Do I need to use the 9V power or the 5V power?

Bryce

The 10 volt rail is used on the SCART port, but only to switch TVs SCART to RGB input, the Sony doesn't read or need this pin, so it should work with 5V fine.

I have the Amstrad connected to the 9V currently.. could that be the problem?

Have you tested your console with a known working cable on a regular TV?

eebuckeye

Console works great with SCART to composite cable.

Bryce

The composite signal doesn't use the RGB or Sync signals though. Do you have a scope to measure the outputs from the RGB and Sync pins?

Console works great with SCART to composite cable.

So you don't know if your console correctly outputs RGB then?

eebuckeye

The only SCART to RGB cable I have is the one I made that works in this config:  QL DIN to SCART cable (purchased) to female/female conector (purchased) to SCART to RGB (that I made) to Sony converter.
