Quick tested two internal 3" drives in my fd-1 and both failed with disk missing. Should they work in fd-1 normally ?

(perhaps then I have to check the belts)

To my knowledge, the drives are exactly the same so, as you say, I'd check the belts.

Yup, they're identical, should work without any modifications.
