So i got a Gotek..how does it work?

I got a gotek from Amistore.eu, received it and then realised i cant connect it as i have a Frence 6128. Ordered the proper cable, waited a few weeks and finally its arrived!!!

Yep, of course it doesnt work , plugged in the power(both cables with power from the monitor)
cat |b (different in french as its a u thing but |a works), doesnt do anything, just error/retry etc.


I also cant launch the file manager via run "hxm


Not sure if doing something wrong or the whole thing is busted


i thing i need to back off and just expect to get my 6128 playing the games i want in 3-4 months time, really disappointing though

Thanks guys, sorry for the late response. I had some time to investigate this today. I got the gotek from amigastore.eu but they set the jumper incorrectly for an external drive even though its an external unit.


So i moved the jumper and set the correct file manager for the cpc by overwriting the one at root level and problem resolved, finally i can play downloaded games, woohoo
