Hello, I have amstrad cpc 464 and 6128.
I recently bought an amstrad 464 which turned on but the display was blank.
So I decided to look on the forums to see if it was possible to fix it, after reading everything and anything I decided to change most of the components (ram, z80 processor, rom, gate array).
But now after changing everything I still have this white screen and I have no idea where it can come from.
I am posting photos of the screen in question and of the amstrad.
If someone could help me it would be really nice of you, I know how to weld so even for complicated manipulations I could do it.
THANKS
The fact the screen is set up with the right dimensions means a fair bit of the startup sequence is OK, since the Z80 needs to run the code to set up the CRTC for that to happen.
You may want to check this thread: https://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/hardware-related/the-famous-grey-screen-black-frame-issue/?topicseen as it looks like a similar kind of problem.
Did it originally have a 40007 GA perhaps? It looks like someone attempted to convert it.

Following.
I have the same issue on my 6128, have replaced all chips on ram bank 0, gate array, pal/fal chip, MUX chips and z80.
Lets see who solves it first, might be the same problem if we are lucky😊
