Hi together,
I decided to create a standalone app for CPCPaint.

It contains a invisible CPC emulation  ::)

You can use it to pixel CPC screens and/or convert the following fileformats to CPC:
  .PNG, .JPG, .BMP and .GIF

You can create overscan (32k) or normal screen format (16k)

When Paint has opened up you will also find a 2nd window in the background, which is called the "Effect mixer".
This is to be used as image-manipulator (handle contrast, RGB values, brightness etc...)

You can download the app. here:

ConvImgCPC is nice yes. That's, why I adapted the included binaries (&C7D0 in normal screens and &800 in Overscan screens) from ConvImgCPC and also the PAL format is taken from it. Demoniak sent me the C++ sources and I adapted some routines.
(No, the imageprocessor not, it's self-coded!)

Great then :) Basically, without having really tested yours, I remember convimgcpc having really great conversion options...

What I like:
Simple enough UI, not overly complicated
Runs well under Linux (So I can spread out the windows on my 1920x1080 display ;))

What I would like to see:
CPC+ palette support
Greater use of tooltips, so that it's clearer what the buttons are supposed to do
Support for showing hidden files in the file dialogs (if possible)

Sorry, that's impossible. I am using a modified JEMU emulator internally, which does not emulate the CPC+  :-[

Tooltips & Java is a little problem. I found out, that they can totally slowdown the emulation.
Perhaps I will make a html guide.

QuoteSupport for showing hidden files in the file dialogs (if possible)

Well, I don't know how. I think the visibility of files depends on your OS settings.
(Like with Windows, where you can choose to show all hidden & system files)

Maybe that's something for you to do in your spare time, then. ;)

Really, the emulation core (also for JavaCPC) was written by Richard Wilson (Executioner).
If someone could embed CPC+emulation, then he is.
I only modified his JEMU a bit to code JavaCPC. But the original emulation is all the JEMU core.
With   some improvements. (shaking some codes, coding some crap, 90% of code   is "unknown brewing of some unknown commands and unknown code snippets")

(Sorry for editing your post, I wanted to quote it *lol*)

Works nice on OSX (as far as Java applications can). Thanks!

Would be cool, if the picture could also been saved as .png

Devilmarkus

Hmmm png export is a cool idea. I will remove the "bmp" button and replace by a "png" ;)

This might seem like a silly request but here goes....

Is there a CPC paint program out there that runs on the PC?  A program limited to the spec of the humble CPC?

Devilmarkus

CPCPaint runs well on my PC ;)
JavaCPC Paint is a bit more improved. CPC+ format and so, but it's the same app.
