DiskDumper for SymbOS makes it possible to dump all your old floppy discs from the CPC (data and system format) and PCW (180K) to emulator DSK files using your CPC (or other SymbOS platforms) machine.

Thanks to DoctorCPC for the idea, which was very simple and fast to implement.
I will probably merge DiskDeDumper and DiskDumper into one single app, but for the moment it was more easy in this way.
Great, thx :)
great thanks well done. its amazing! DiskDump for take image and DiskDeDump for write image. this is great solution

Hi Jorn
It has a Retry key to dump floppy's that are damaged?
sometimes ejecting the disk, cleaning the surface and retrying is key to achieve a correct dump

Hi Joseman, that's a very good idea. I will include this in the next version when I merge both apps. As well as autodetection for number of tracks.
Up to now I did use CPC-DSK for such a purpose. However CPC-DSK does need a 3.5" or 5,25" B-drive with some 0,7 MB format.
Now I couldn't find out which floppy formats DiskDumper does support to store the DSK image.
(Yes, it can store DSKs to a M4 card, but how about floppy disc drives? I don't have mass storage everywhere).
Any help would be appreciated! :) :) :) :) :)

Maybe you missed it, but DiskDumper is a SymbOS application: FAT12/16/32 devices including FAT12 floppy discs, which can be inserted in 3,5" and 5,25" drives on your CPC as well.

Of course I'm fully aware that it's a SymbOS application, therefore I did ask. I was asking not for MS-DOS formats, I asked for CPC formats. Since you answer feels a bit pissed off, I assume there's no support then for regular CPC formats. Thanks, that's what I wanted to know, because MS-DOS stuff doesn't help me in regular CPC operation. Back to CPC-DSK then.

This feature is really important. otherwise 40 tracks are interrupted and the whole process is incomplete. In this way, there is a huge increase in productivity.

Dumping CPC discs to DSK files and store it on CPC discs again doesn't sound very clever to me :picard:
It's for transfering discs between the CPC and PC based emulators, and for this FAT12/16/32 is what you need.
CPC-Disc -> CPC-DSK -> DSK files to Vortex-Disc -> to backup storage. Not so hard to get.
Data exchange between CPC and PC(no drive today!): M4, USIfAC, CPC-Mini-Booster. But old FAT 12 discs? :picard: :picard2:
About to try this tool out - will it create new .DSK images, or do I need to have these pre-created to dump to?
It will create new .DSK filess, you don't need to prepare them first.
