Here is a new version of ConvImgCpc. This version has been completely rewritten in C#. What are the new features compared to the previous version ?
- Possibility of generating screens in EGX1 and EGX2 formats (mixture of mode 0/1 and mode 1/2)
- Possibility to read animated gif files and convert them into animations for cpc
- "Special" ASCII modes
- Possibility to capture hard sprites (cpc+) from an image
- Possibility to edit hard sprites (cpc+)
- And surely other things that I do not think at this moment ...
Go try it :http://ldeplanque.free.fr/ConvImgCpc/new/ (http://ldeplanque.free.fr/ConvImgCpc/new/)
Je vais m'empresser d'essayer ça !
Est-ce que a tout hasard, comme pour les versions precedentes. tu as un exemple de loader basic avec fichier de decompression ?
Surtout pour les nouveau format : pressé de tester ça !
I'm working a lot with the previous versions. So really I'm glad to hear it is enhanced and further developed.
Thank you for the features!
That dithering options are so cool! Well done!
Sorry bad message...

The method to display an image saved with ConvImgCpc is described in the doc, sorry, for the moment only in French ...
Thanks for the updated version!

... nice little improvements apart other (is there a change log or is it completely rewritten?)!!
Yes this is a new version rebuilt from scratch
Any other conversions to check out?
Especially photos if you have any.

Wow,
These are impressive.
I will record the slideshows and include them in your thread if that is OK with yourself?

Second Test :
The EGX Mode is indeed very impressive.
@NiNxPer: Are your images done first-time-right with the tool or had you hands on? Great images by the way.

Hi to all,
this version is realy fantastic! Thanks for this new marvelous version!
The CMP compressed mode is realy a great idea for basic games, but at this moment i have not understand the correct use of it, i have use the code for recall the *.CMP image, i read this on the guide:
memory &F333:Load"FILECMP.CMP":CALL &C50, i have check the flag on "include display code in image"
when i go to load and "run" the CPC reboot, i must use a specify mode selection ?
I have tryed on JavaCPC emulator. With 128K
thanks
bye

Mix of overscan mode 0 and mode 1 pn my CPC+, converted with ConimgCPC.
O I like these!
Will there be a .dsk of these screens available?
I'd love to see them on my Plus and very likely (guaranteed) they would end up as a YT video.

Hi, is a 720Kb .dsk OK? They are among anothers .scr without embedded display code.
What format is the .dsk?
Nemo, could you use the CPCEC emulator and take a screenshot? avengers.jpg
CPCEC works well with mixed color...
Hi,
I attached 2 .dsk here :
1/ CPM3-OVS is a standard 3" dsk image. You can boot CPM3 on this disk. This version of CPM recognise a C: RAM disk if there is a memory expansion and a drive B: of 720kB . The program DSP.COM allows to display one or more overscan images (like a slideshow, in CPM3). On the CPM command line just type :DSP corto or DSP corto avengers startrek misstic etc. Of course you can use your own CPM version.
2/ overscr.dsk is a 720kB disk. It works fine with a gotek as drive B or winape emulator. The are more overscan images on it and also the DSP.COM and the source file DSP.PAS. The Turbo Pascal compiler with correct keyboard ans screen for the CPC is also provide ( TURBO.COM)
All this is only for CPC6128+. All the overscan images uses a 4096 palettes colors as defined with the ConvImgCPC soft.
CPM3-ovs.dsk
overscr.dsk
Mode 1 conversion of escher
Thank you :)
CPM3-OVS is fine but overscr.dsk is showing as a blank 716K Romdos D1?
My bad,
Your version of CPM works fine, mine doesn't.
OK, a little update.
Comete & Manara don't Run from AMSDOS.
DSP attempts to load them and then resets back to AMSDOS.
DSP works fine with all the other files.
Thanks for reporting. I will see that tonight. I'm not sure I posted the latest version. Possibly a border effect because i remember that I forget to delock the Asic in a previous DSP version and got the same problem. I had not noticed it because the asic unlocking persists even after a hot reboot. it only disappears after an On/off of the CPC. Perhaps the DSP.Com on the 720kb disk is not the good version.
Video for YT on Saturday.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niGIL1mc520
Please note the blue border on three sides of each of the screens is a display "quirk" of the OSSC.
I'm interested in how these are displayed.
CPM has no graphics mode(s) so I assume you would exit from CPM to AMSDOS and then back to CPM.
But I can't see how you would get back to CPM?
Or.....?
Or ...
Or perhaps Amstrad has done a good job with its versions of CPM for CPC ;D These versions have in the BIOS of the CPM an entry point to the firmware (Userf). It allows easy access to graphics, sounds, etc. I use this possibility.
see:and the links to the programs in my signature.I didn't post the correct 720KB floppy yesterday. I can no longer change my old message. The correct version is attached here with more pictures and the correct DSP.COM program
Wow... at this point you really have a crazy talent !
It's incredible all the possibilities offered by Turbo Pascal v3 on Amstrad. A really little known language but very powerful (I had made some small programs about thirty years ago on my CPC... but very very far from all that).
You show us that anything is possible here.
As much on Amstrad old as on Amstrad plus.
The integration of Z80 code, through the syntax of Turbo Pascal, makes it possible to open up to a wider public the discovery of the assembler.
Thank you again for everything you share with us on the forums and on your YouTube channel. 👍
