HELP!

I've been looking everywhere... -even at my dsk collection.. (probably I erased it someday BTW)

I remember of a cool sample player application by OCT called OCTWAVER (used digiblaster hw as well)

But cannot find a trace of it anyware !!

And because I'm not mad it exists and even got reviewed in AA 108:

Hm, interesting; I'd love to see/hear a demo...

Had a look at the files from Genesis8 as well as David Cantrell mirror site, which includes the Robot PD disks, unfortunately OCTWAVER wasn't coming up in there either. CPC Power has something called Oct's Soundhackcompilation which provides the username octbear, so maybe that will be of some help if their still around?

It should be available on the CPC Rulez page. You have to registrate there to download it.

Well 174 views and still nothing!

I couldn't imagine that this can be so rare...

Which proves there are still lots of disks out there which haven't been transferred or documented.

It can! I'm searching since years for the German version of Gunship and nobody has it. Yes it does happen, but somebody without internet will probably have a disc with both of them somewhere.  :-\

I can, my thread has had 625 views, I even mention those programs in my signature and still nothing!  ???  The interesting thing about the second program, is CPC-Rulez has screenshots of it (confirming the author), but no disc image of it exists anywhere.

I checked the Missing.txt, which was part of the Robot-PD collection and Octwaver wasn't even mentioned in that, though I think a few of those later PD programs AA reviewed have disappeared. David Hall wrote an Invaders type of game that AA reviewed, though doesn't seem to be anywhere.

I searched through my boxes with 5.25"-discs today. And at least I found a disc where I have written "OCTwaver v 1.0" on it, many years ago.  8)  The problem is that I neither know if the disc is still working, nor can convert it. Maybe I will have the opportunity to do this at the weekend, when I meet with Mr. AMS. I'll keep you updated...

Kalispéra!

TAFASA (The Association for Amstrad-Software Archaeology) proudly presents an image of OCTWAVER v1.0. Thanks a lot to Mr. AMS for the delicious red wine and the conversion of my dusty disk. :-)

Est-ce qu'il y a des gens ici qui ont contact avec CPC rulez? Peut-être on peut envoyer cette image. Merci. :-)

Aw, shame, was looking forward to it :(

A positive thing: we now have the actual tool dumped, before we had no tool and no example samples.

I just took a look on the "original" disk, there is no demofile... :-( Can't the tool be used to generate new files? To be honest I did not look into it...

That's right, pretty much any 8 bit sample from PC can be uses (.WAV files therefore octWAVer). So everybody can get what he wants just from PC.  :)
