I finally managed to get online with Honeyterm and Mame with a bit of a hack.
A bit more involved than I expected. I had to disassemble the Honeyterm ROM and learn a fair bit about the z80 Dart. It was quite all consuming.
Many thanks to Barry (Mahlemut), who did all the hard work a few years ago.
The best bit is the 1980s hacker cursor flying across the screen.
Pic attached!
I've managed to get Honeyview to connect also. Although I can't seem to continue past the first page with telnet and a pseudo tty. Sorry for the speccy viewdata. It was the only one I could get working.
This works with a bitbanger socket!
./mame64 cpc464 -v -exp rs232 -exp:rs232:rs232 null_modem -bitb socket.nxtel.org:23280
Honeyview's uniquely CPC 4 color dithered Mode 1 option !
