Hey

Introducing Pixsaur, an online tool for converting images to Amstrad CPC format. Color reduction, dithering, selection, etc.

The tool is still in its infancy, and will gain many more features.
Enjoy

very soon  :D

Mark_wllms

How would one load these images on a real CPC?

gurneyh

A .dsk export is coming soon.
In the meantime, you can use the exported data, as shown here

Hey

Export in overscan format (96 bytes x 272) is here!

Could you add any resolution up to 64kB?

It's planned, but not just yet.

Ok
I had another similar request.
As there's no real technical challenge, I'm going to move this feature up the prority list.

In MODE 0, it creates nice images, but in MODE 1, it doesn't let you set your own colors, which is disappointing. I mean, you can, but it doesn't work.

Hey,

Yes, the ergonomics are not good.
The current solution is to select the colors before loading the image.

ZorrO

Oh yeah, it not comfy but it's working. :)

Nice too! Great results!  :)

Is there a way for MODE 2 conversions to set PAPER to color 0 and PEN 1 to color 26 (the program sets them always in the other way)?

More general: How can colors be preselected?

Thanks so much for this gem!  :) :) :)

Currently, colors must be selected before selecting an image.
Unfortunately, even then, the page must be refreshed once colors have been selected the first time. This is quite buggy.

gurneyh

Hey

A small step forward for Pixsaur: you can now select, lock/unlock a colour at any time.

ZorrO

I've been experimenting with Pixsaur occasionally for past few days, and I'm incredibly impressed by how much better it is than ConvImg, especially in Mode 1. Here's an example: a scene image IMPdoc by Kris on CPC+, another is my sincere desire to find replacements for a few beiges and grays in old 27-color palette to display this image on old CPC, another is a conversion from Plus to CPC by Pixsaur, and another, this time to MODE 1, although I chose colors myself because the defaults were terrible. I didn't even touch sliders. :)

In the colour LAB space, without changing any other settings, you get a pretty cool result.
And thanks for the feedback.
I just realised that I broke the export... :picard:

edit: the export has been fixed
