There's a nice little Director Editor program from AA92 type-ins (I think) that would do the trick, unfortunately I haven't got the file on hand at the moment :(  it is on one of my Disk Images though.
* Using the old Amstrad Languages :D   * with the Firmware :P
* I also like to problem solve code in BASIC :)   * And type-in Type-Ins! :D

I've attached the above mentioned program in case you're interested, I was somewhat surprised it's 6Kb in size, but it's quite easy to use since it's menu driven and it can also rescue erased files, pretty much any file which is listed.

Very useful, thanks for sharing ;)

Thanks for that.. I have no way of getting it onto a real CPC (unless I list it in WINAPE and retype it) but IIRC, there was a directory editor on an AA covertape...

I'll have to have a look..

In case you have FutureOS installed, it will show them anyway. It also shows all users.  :)

Hmmm that complicates things. You might find something on the AA Covertape, the only Disc Based program I played around with was Worktop then later on played around with DES, I'm not sure they could show system files. There was some Disc-based Type-in programs when AA had Type-ins on the Covertape, DISC from AA79 Type-ins, Gradisk from AA81 & Disc Nurse from AA85 Type-ins, they had these type-ins on the following months covertape, so that would make it covetapes from Issues 80,82 & 86 (sorry I don't have the Tape Numbers).

Hi. Zeropolis,

If you let me know which of these you want, I am more than happy to write the dsk to a 3 or 3.5 inch disk. Pm me your address and the dsk you want.

If you do get that ROM board, a nice app that TFM kindly converted to
ROM (when I requested it a couple of years ago) is Ruck Zuck Copy.
Amongst other things, this lists all files including hidden and you
can unhide them if you like.

Ruck Zuck Copy - CPCWiki

There are a lot of other programs out there that also do this.

Thanks, it's Dizzy Devil from Tiny Toon Adventures...

I remember a prog called DMON on one of the last AA tapes I got for a while.

Hi,

IF You have the CPM+ discs, You could use the "dir" command to show hidden files.

type : DIR [FULL]

that shows all files on that user

You could also use the "set" command to change status on the different files.

type : SET *.* [DIR

That makes all files show up.

You could have a look at the following documents to learn more about CPM+ (also known as CPM3.1)

PS You could also use the dirs command under CPM
