Hi All, Last year i was developing new e-mail client for SymbOS in Quigs. I did a small YouTube (on my MSX) but it works on the CPC as well ofcourse. It runs on 4 or 16 color mode.


Hope you like it as well. I hope to publish it soon. It's a very basic email client so don't expect it fully working with now days emails. I have to say a big thanks to Trebmint for all the quigs support and help!

Hi There,

I wanted to say that this project is still not dead and i did some major improvements on it.
Hereby some screenshots:








SymbOS email works only on FAT12/16/32 devices and need SymbOS 3.1 to run.
SMTP and POP3 are supported (no Encryption, however Base64 encoding is supported for login)
.I hope to release it soon, if you like to be a beta- tester, just let me know.
So many thanks to Trebmint and Prodatron, without them i was not able to do this.
SymbOS and Quigs are just amazing!

A couple of days ago Edoz asked for helping him testing his new application and I took the chance. So, here is my report:

(By the ways, it wasn't that easy as it sounds. It took some days to get it working...)

- Installed a new (inoffical) SymbOS version (3.1) and SymEmail (0.37beta) on my M4 board
- Started the NetDaemon for WLAN connection
- Started and configured SymEmail (storage folders, address for SMTP and POP3, password etc.)
- Started Outlook on Win10 system and wrote an Email to my special CPC Email address
- Pressed "sending/receiving" in SymEmail and ... WOW ... received an incoming Mail
- Answered it directly and sent it back
- Pressed "sending/receiving" in Outlook and ... WOW ... received an answer (look at this signature )

Of course, SymEmail is still in a beta version, not released, Edoz is bug fixing it. (You need patience receiving/sending on the CPC, an email provider which isn't much restrictive due to SPAM (otherwise it will be deleted) and you need to format the Mail in your mail client as "plain text").

But it works!! And he (and maybe Prodatron with his new SymbOS version) will publish it one days. But proof of concept is done.
Our CPC can communicate via Email to modern state to art systems. Isn't cool!

Wow, it looks fantastic. I can't wait to try this out for myself!
Who would have thought sending an e-mail in 2020 could be so exciting?
