Hi!
Here i've got a cpc6128 computer modified with an internal 3,5'' diskdrive. Until now, I always prepared the disks from a computer with diskdrive controller on board (aka internal disk drive, not usb).
My question is: is possible write / prepare 3,5'' disks using the amstrad (not the pc) from other storage device? (for example, real 3'' disk drive B,gotek on B, an M4 board,..)
I try YANCC soft from the M4 board and I can't copy any single file.
You can format the disk just like you'd format a 3in disk - With CPM, ParaDOS or any other CPC format tool.
Bryce.
Yes, I would confirm that.
My PCW has a standard (ex PC) 3.5" drive attached as B:. No physical mods anywhere. I use the standard PCW DiscKit utility to format the 3.5" disks, as far as the software is concerned the disk could be a normal 3" CF2DD disk, it just does the normal CP/M format. Once formatted, the disk appears to CP/M just as if it were a standard 3" B: disk, files can be copied, software run from the B: prompt
