AMX Mouse

To my intense irritation I find the AMS 3D Zicon package will not work without the above mouse and interface. Does anyone have one for sale for a 6128 Plus?

I don't believe there was ever one that worked on the 6128 Plus, well, I can't plug my one in-to my Plus

MJC Computer Supplies sold them and if I remember correctly all that was required was a power lead adaptor and possibly a small joystick extension cable.

The AMX mouse isn't detected by the CPC and it only emulates a joystick anyway, so for testing the software, you should be able to use a joystick or a GX4000 controller.

That's what I thought - tried that already - no joy.

The Zircon package requires the "Execute" button to work - apparently this function is not replicated using a joystick or joypad

It probably is "Fire 3/Spare" which is not connected on the CPC plus.

I belive you needed the 5V from the monitor which you plus in the disc drive into but for the mouse, you would plug the disc drive power into a passthrough port on the adaptor cable.

Now all I have to do is purchase a (short as possible I guess) joystick extension cable and an adaptor for the power connector.

The AMX mouse does use Fire 1, 2 and 3. The Plus does not provide the Fire 3, which is also called spare.

To fix this one need to solder a diode into the Plus joystick port (see other 7 signals). That works for me.

Thanks @GUNHED & @Duke for that info.

It looks like Plan B is needed - instead of the Plus I'll use a 6128 to connect to the OSSC.
So the next step is to get a scart lead from Cool Novelties for the 6128 and take it from there.

@zeropolis79 could you hold off on your generous offer till I get this sorted out at this end, shouldn't be too long.

I'd offer too but I no longer have my CPC monitor (I use a Plus one).

DES works very well with mouse.. So do quite a few games..
