Instead of filling up the classified section with individual ebay auctions, It would be better to put them all in this thread.

Gryzor

Ah! Got the same one. Nice, sturdy little box!

Bryce

Due to the MegaFlash, I now have hundreds of 16K ROMs that I don't need anymore  ;D If any owners of traditional ROMBoards would like some (I can pre-program them with whatever you want), then send me a PM.

Bryce.

Gryzor

Interesting, today I plugged in my new 664 and it had Parados installed; I was checking to see how on earth I connected the MF accidentally to it :D

Bryce

Maybe it's inside :P

No kidding?!

Yeah, I can't remember using stickers like that.

Bryce

How neat and tidy :D

I installed 3e ROMs on my Spectrum +3 last night. I didn't label the ROMs, in fact I didn't even bother putting a sticker over the ROM windows :) It's dark enough in there.

Bryce.

SyX

Welcome to the +3, the Dark Side of Amstrad xDDDD

Bryce

At least the Spectrum people had the decency to put the ROMs in sockets.

On the 664, the dos rom was socketed, making this kind of upgrade real easy...

steve

I had hoped that this thread would be exclusively for ebay auctions, but it has filled up with chatter and devilmarkus' auction may have been overlooked.
@Gryzor, would you split this thread into auctions in one thread and chatter in another please.
Thanks.
@ALL
Expired auctions should be deleted so this thread does not get too long.
Thanks.

Bryce

The problem with putting all ebay auctions in one thread is that even a few comments will shift still current auctions back a few pages and they will not be seen. The classifieds Category is already defined as a buy/sell only area, so it might be better to create  a new thread for every interesting[nb]Otherwise we are just an ebay mirror[/nb] auction.

Bryce.

Gryzor

I tend to agree with Bryce...

And, regarding his comment, I could pull the RSS from ebay.xx and have the system post every single auction :D

steve

There are currently 838 auctions classified as amstrad cpc, so we don't need to fill up the site's hard drives with all that clutter.

Well, IMO it is good that forum users can post their ebay offers here.
Non-users offers can be ignored...

Still, it's not only for users; it's very useful to post about auctions we think might interest others...

Terje_Norway

Have a look at what ended earlier today  ;D
It was the same buyer for the three Arnor ROMs below.
For that price he could almost have bought a MegaFlash. Don't You think Bryce ? ?

GBP  10.50 - Prospell Spelling Checker ROM version for Amstrad CPC...
GBP    7.50 - Protext Word Processor ROM version for Amstrad CPC...
GBP  36.35 - MAXAM Z80 dis/assembler, editor ROM for Amstrad CPC...

Different buyers for the following items :

GBP    6.49 - VIDI V2.02 ROMBO ROM chip for Amstrad CPC...
GBP  29.00 - Multiface Two - Romantic Robot - for Amstrad CPC...
GBP102.00 - Rombo 8 socket ROM board/box - Amstrad CPC464/664/6128

That proves that CPC hardware is really valuable. Good news for us that has lots of it  8)

PS Bryce, I got the other parcel yesterday. Excellent quality and service as usual ! !

Bryce

Excellent stuff. Were the auctions just for the ROM, or were they mounted on one of those single ROM expansion boards that Arnor used to sell. If they were just the ROM, then he's an idiot, but if they were Single ROMBoards, I can understand it from a collectors point of view.

What use is the Vidi ROM without the associated hardware??

Or that there are people out there with too much money and no idea of the real value of this stuff?

It was the standard Arnor package ! ! ! One ROM + manual + box.
It looks like the older type of box. Did probably NOT contain the latest ROM versions.
Protext did also contain the tape.

GBP102.00 - Rombo 8 socket ROM board/box - Amstrad CPC464/664/6128

VIDI ROM - was only a loose single ROM. Nothing more ! !
Practically useless without the hardware (I think) But on the other hand, the hardware is useless without the disc or the ROM software
Multiface II - was with manual and outer box (I think)
Rombo 8 socket ROM board box. Unit + 8 page manual. No ROMs.

All of these items was sold as UNTESTED. Seller could not test it, as he had no hardware to test it on ! ! ! A bit risky to use so much money in my opinion ! !
Anyway Bryce, You have more or less killed the market for romboards and real ROMs with the MegaFlash    :o

Back in 2004, I purchased 2 x Rombo Romboxes and 15 ROMs. I bought them for 75 GBP back then  :D

Bryce

I sincerely apologise to all those whose ROMBoards have been devalued by my MegaFlash and of course to ebay for lowering their cut on future ROMBoard sales (not).

Bryce.

P.s. I usually go for defect or untested hardware on ebay, because they are usually cheaper/don't attract many bidders and they are usually very easy to repair.
