Yes, I suspect they may have been display models, but they do look extremely unused and there's an aweful lot of the original packing etc. that a used device wouldn't have.

The jack/joystick port picture of the 1st one is a giveaway.
The second one does not have that picture, but its SN is a later one ... (well, 121 unit later)
