Not weird at all. the bidding system that eBay uses (I forget the name) is interesting (they all are, do a google search for some nice reading). Read this for instance and it'll become clear.

In short, if the previous bidder's highest bid was £111 and the new bidder bid, say, £120, the system will match the previous bidder's top bid.

ComSoft6128

Thanks for the info.
Someone must have really wanted that cart.

Cheers,

Peter

In essence it means that one had bid £111 and the other (the winner) even higher than that :) The auction ended at the second highest bid, which is how eBay's auction system works.

Nice CPC 464 bundle on eBay, would be tempted but the wife would kill me!

Working 464, DDI-1 with new belt, MP-1, lightpen, RS232 interface, Soft 968 firmware manual are some of the highlights...

An expanding array of hardware available at www.cpcstore.co.uk (and issue 4 of CPC Fanzine!)

The rest is nice though.

No cheats, snapshots or emulation. I play my games as they're intended to be played. What about you?

Gryzor

Wtf... I think mine is boxed too, though I don't think it's a 512KB machine (how difficult is it to update it anyhow?).

But, selling it at this price is one thing, it actually getting sold is another altogether.

For any AUSSIES out there needing a v1 Amstrad RS-232 interface (I know there's been a few asking in the past)

Doesn't have the accompanying (UK) power supply, but you can pick up a suitable Aussie one from Jaycar.

CPC464+ on eBay very yellowed
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AMSTRAD-464-PLUS-COMPUTER-RARE-UNIT-ONLY-PLEASE-READ/302700523299?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1431.l2649

Thinking of bidding but what do you guys think is sensible limit ??? - never had a Plus before. Yellowing is not ideal but as long as the internals are sound i can live with that - providing i can add some kind of add-on that works as Disk/USB/SD card storage.

The 464+ uses the same PCB as the 6128+, so you can easily add floppy functionality by adding the components.
