Didn't end very high at all. 182 Pounds... well... you pay more for a SF2 (see auction before).

There's a 664 on eBay.

I've never actually seen one of these in real life. Shame it appears to be broken. Is this a common fault, and can it be fixed ?

Yes, the 664 keyboard membrane is known to be flaky, you may be able to clean/repair the membrane, but you can also buy replacement membranes for £25 from rwap.
You should also expect to have to replace the drive belt.

Bryce

From my experience, the membranes aren't worth repairing. They are so flaky, that as soon as you've fixed one part another part will fail a few days later. It's well worth investing in a new membrane unless you want to spend more time fixing it than using it.

Bryce.

The Last Bandit

Seems like a lot for a broken unit. Are they that much in demand ?

Bryce

They are relatively rare. It will probably reach 100 pounds or there abouts.

Bryce.

Munchausen

And it's in good condition too, despite the keyboard membrane which is an easy fix. Most 664s I've seen come up for sale have really badly faded keys.

Bryce

Well they weren't all blue to start with. My 664 is a complete grey keyboard version and there was a beige/brown version too.

Bryce.

beaker

So tempting, my sister is still living in Bournemouth so she could probably go around and collect it and bring it over at Christmas :D :D :D

Bryce

Well the price is still relatively reasonable, but there's still 6 days to go.

Bryce.

Gryzor

Looks lovely, and judging from the bids the broken membrane doesn't stop others...

(but what the heck has he done with the power cable?!)

Gryzor

Don't know how many use ROMboxes nowadays, but here's a trio of essentials:

Utopia ROM for Amstrad / Schneider CPC 464 664 6128 | eBay

Maxam ROM for Amstrad / Schneider CPC 464 664 6128 | eBay

Parados ROM for Amstrad / Schneider CPC 464 664 6128 | eBay

Judging from the manual's font these are not originals, but still, for someone who needs them, GBP7 a pop is not too bad.
