Why me? I just use it because it's there... Chrome works btw.

You're the only one who has been reporting IE issues :D

I never use IE ... but I checked it and can confirm that IE 9 has troubles. It seems jQuery doesn't/can't load ... well that's what the JavaScript-Error says.

Now I'm back to my good old Firefox.

Posting this from IE8 at work, seems to work fine?

TFM

8 works, yes, but not 9.

It's definitely IE 9 that's to blame.

I kinda liked the movie "Firefox", but I bet this is one of the 80s movies that makes you feel embarrased watching in 2012. :/

Offtopic: Why?
Intopic: Well, gotta install that fire bird then soon (after holidays, can't risc anything now, need a running laptop).

That's quite difficult to answer.

I've never seen it in the cinemas back then, only years later on TV. However, I'm sure the flight scenes on a big screen would have blown me away as much as the first Star Wars movie (Episode IV for the younglings). And the effects although quite dated now can still be regarded as fantastic for their time.

But apart from Clint Eastwood, I can't remember any other actors much less a good script. He has to infiltrate an enemy base in Russia and fly the Firefox to the USA, IIRC.
We've had a bunch of these movies in the 80s, all very trivial and superficial.
(I could probably go on about cold war politics, but really there's no point.)

Installing a new browser should not break your computer  ;D

That's what people say... normally that's right. But there are time, when you have to time for risky things, even if the risc is low. And - yes - once I had problems installing FF, it's longer ago though.

You are using Windows 7 64bits, your OS is not as fragile as you may think, believe me  ;D

Mine is... always hanging for periods of seconds and sometimes minutes.

McKlain

Sounds like a hardware problem.

Well for a $4000 Dell XPS M1730 which has a Bluescreen at least once a week it seems to be quite unstable.
And yes, I did hardware tests for days(!): no faults.

Therefore I love my CPC (and my OS) that much, it just works. And if there is a problem - hey, I can fix it  ;)

McKlain

Go figure... my self made pc had windows 7 64bits installed on it for 2 years, and the system has standed changes of hardware like a new tv-card, new graphics card, new cpu, memory, hard drives, external peripherals... and lets not talk about the software, it was almost a test bed. And still it worked fine with no fatal errors. I have just reinstalled everything to clean the system and reduce boot times, cause it was taking almost 2 minutes to start up after 2 years of torture.

For a retail system at that price, having those problems that you have is unnacceptable, I think.

robcfg

Sounds like driver problems, I think that's the only thing that can cause a bluescreen in Win 7 today.

TFM

@McKlain: Next time you get $4000 and make a PC for me ;-)

But as poor researcher I have to copy with the laptop for some more years.

Yes, using just the drivers the installation brought with it. However these n-vidia drivers make struggles once a while.

The FutureOS installation is not asking you questions - not now, but now I will add them  ;)  Tons of them  :P

Stuff like:
- Do you want to have your border in pink every Thursday?
- If you don't have an RTC, do you like pink border though?
- Do you mind to take a small survey (792 questions only)?
