Hi @ll,
our forum is growing well.
So I think it's time to increase the amount of administrators and moderators.

For administrators I would like to have Nurgle and Octoate in the list.
for moderators you could suggest yourself or other members.

What do you think about this?

(We also need Gryzor's opinion about that)

Depends on how much time being an administrator consumes. I have far to little time and would rather spend it on doing backups properly than doing to much other stuff. And then there is Arnold/Linux which received almost no attention from me during the last year.

Of course I have no issue stepping up in case of an emergency (like the recent server crash).

regards,
nurgle

Well it's not much.
The people are very cultivated (Except of some special users *smiling to Leonie  :-* *)
What do you think? Gryzor and me are sitting the whole day here to hunt corrupt people? ;)
No, really, there's not much to do.
Everything is running fine here.

Well, it takes up as much time as you want, really.

Administering things... the system is running mostly fine, but every now and then I spend much time (sometimes a few hours a day) tweaking or trying out new stuff, possibilities, extensions etc... what people see here is only 1/10th of what is being tried behind the scenes.

Administering the server etc - well, you've nailed this :)

Moderation doesn't take much time. Usually for me it means reading every post made (in German, too, sometimes) and make sure people don't cross some lines, as happened recently.

In the sense of the concept of the wiki belonging to its people I'm all for adding more members to the stuff; but in practical terms, it's not really necessary...

Bottom line:if anyone wants to step up, I'm ok with that :)

And one more thing: thanks, nurgle :)

My suggestions for forum moderators:
- Bryce
- Executioner
- arnoldemu
- mr_lou

Why?
These four people have a positive attitude to the forum and the members and are motivated.
What is not to say that the others are not!
It is only my personal opinion.

I think: 3-4 administrators and also 5-6 moderators should be a good solution.

Thanks for the "nomination"....

I think it's good to have 5-6 moderators. But I must admit I'm mostly thinking about spam, of which I haven't seen much lately here at this forum. But when this spam appears it would be really sweet to be able to delete it right away. The very presence of it annoys me to a level of insanity, much like Leonie's.  ;)

I'm currently in a "CPC-phase", which means I'm visiting this board many times daily. But that phase will pass, and I'll have a CPC-break, and then I'll have a CPC-phase later again. This is why I think 5-6 moderators is a good idea, because we're not all here all the time.

Currently though, I'm not witnessing a whole lot of spam, nor inappropriate behavior on this board. But of course it's better to be prepared, one might say.

I don't mind taking on the moderator-job - when I'm having my CPC-phases.  ;)

Bryce

I'd just like to say thanks for calling me motivated. I've no idea what gives you this impression, but I'd like to pass this on to my boss, who is of a completely different opinion :D

But seriously, I don't mind being made a moderator or whatever, if it doesn't take up much time. and like Mr. Lou, I also go through "phases" of interest. although I am always doing hardware stuff, it's not always CPC related (I do a lot of design for photography, robotics and even Carrera Bahn groups too).

Bryce.

Executioner

Thanks for the nomination, I'll be happy to be an admin after my new house is built which hopefully will be before Christmas.
