Hi guys!

As our mate Gryzor suggested, I've started here a thread on the pictures of our beloved CPC's hardware  ;D

Here you have the first pictures. They are from a spanish CPC 464.

Maybe tonight I'll be posting the pictures of the english CPC (I think it's from the first series) I got on ebay.

Cheers!

Gryzor

Heya mate, thanks for the pics... it'd be nice if you (or anyone, or me even!) could clean them up and crop them in Photoshop to remove your floor :D

Also, I guess eventually these should be moved to the wiki proper - I'll see to it that a section on photos or a gallery be created. Thanks again!

Cheers

Yeah I could have thought of cleaning and cropping the pictures but I forgot it jeje  ;D

Here is the second set of pictures, from the English CPC 464 1st series. The main board has 1983 copyright year while the first one has year 1984 on it.

As soon as I have a little time, I'll clear & crop the first set  8)

Gryzor

Thanks - much appreciated :) Yesterday I opened up my 664, will take some pics hopefully today...

Ok, I found that little time and I worked the first set of pictures a bit.

If you need some more pictures or you want some specific ones, just tell me.  8)

That's great... thanks so much. I will indeed prepare a gallery section on the CPC article if I find some time (flying to Madrid on Sunday, got lots to do..) or you can do it (or anyone else!) if you feel like it :)

Gryzor, you have a private message. We are having a mini CPC meeting today in Madrid!

Ygdrazil

Hi ...

Nice pictures, I to will make some pictures of my CPC motherboards soon!

Maybe we could make a section on the wiki dedicated to pictures of  motherboards and their serial numbers!

I remember a site showing pictures of different version of CPC motherboards... but unfourtunately i have forgot the URL!! :-(

Regards,
Ygdrazil

Gryzor

Just added a Gallery section, reachable through the sidebar. Let's start uploading :)

If you could remember that site it'd be great...

robcfg

Hey Gryzor, I'm not used to work with a wiki. So, How do I upload the pictures? Should I put the links to imageshack or are they uploaded to the wiki itself?

Gryzor

Not a problem; there is a nice tutorial over at Wikipedia which I'm copying to the CPCWiki.com: http://cpcwiki.eu/index.php/Image_howto. Look especially at the gallery option :)

How about the pictures' size? I get a warning that the images should not exceed 153600 bytes in size... Should I try to shrink the images or go on with the actual size?

Gryzor

Do you get an option to ignore the warning? If so, then yes, do continue (but of course ridiculous sizes of multi-MB pics should be avoided)...

robcfg

Ok, I think I got it  ;D

Please take a look and tell me if it is ok.

Hi Gryzor

I found the site I remembered for having photos of CPC motherboards:

http://www.8bit-museum.de/pcb/index.htm?group=6&id=28

I think the pictures i allright.. But not as detailed as the the one Robcfg did..

Also there is no pictures of the CPC 664! This we really need.. Did it come in different revisions?

I don't have a 664 but i will make some pictures of my CPCs and put them in the wiki ASAP!

Regards,
Ygdrazil

Gryzor

I do have a 664 and a couple of pics of its insides... I will upload.

Concerning the 8bit-museum, however, did you ask permission from the owner of the site before uploading to the wiki? I sent him an email and am waiting for his reply, if you didn't get approval we should take them down...

Otherwise the gallery is nice as it is

Ups no

Youre right!

.. I have removed them from the gallery!

.. Until you get a reply!

A friend of mine is giving me a CPC6128 and a Spectrum +2, so you can expect some new hardware pictures before end of the year.

If a specific picture is desired, just tell me and I'll take it gladly.

Cheers!

Gryzor

Cool! Cool!

By the way, the guy from 8-bit musem did not see it fit to reply... I'm suggesting uploading them and giving them a note. If you want please do go ahead as I'm very busy these days, otherwise I'll try and do it this weekend.

Cheers
Gryzor
