There is no "mentions" option in my profile alert selection screen, maybe that's the problem.

I've enabled the "Notify me of replies" for this thread, if you want to do 2 replies, perhaps put my Username in the second post and perhaps I can tell if it has worked.


In my settings the only Option I have enabled is the 1st one:
"Receive forum newsletters, announcements and important notifications by email."


I would of thought that if my Username was used it would be deemed an important notification.

Yes, definitely. Plus, you should get two notifications from this thread - a regular one about a new post since you're following the thread (if you do) and another one with the mention.

Just to make sure, check the horizontal menu on the top of this page here (or every page): under the Profile menu, does the Mentions entry exist or not?

PS Seems to be working perfectly for me now, so I'm trying to figure out why regular members don't have it since the permissions are correct...

Ah now, I see the Mentions Bit and if I click on that I can see all the Mentions Piling up in there since the beginning.

Ok I found that in the Mentions Area, it's got it's only set of settings and in those settings none of those boxes were ticked, so I've enabled the email notification whenever a mention is made, so it should work now.

Because I was in the Account Settings section under Notifications, and didn't even see the separate Mentions Column until you mentioned it.

Yes.


I just thought it would have been better if came up in the Notifications Box (the explaination mark inside the triangle), since that's where the replies to your posts and the Likes appear.

I have the email notification, but nothing in Alerts, was that the update @Gryzor ?

No, nothing for the Alerts right now, but it probably works now...

I too expected to enable mentions notifications under the notification tab, I have now enabled mentions notifications via pm.
Nothing yet.

@steve if you only updated the setting after the last update then naturally you wouldn't get a notification for past mentions... how about now


As for the alerts thing: unfortunately the version we're using does not support mentions, I could update it but it's a further $15... worth it?

@Gryzor, I just got my first mention notification at the top of the screen and recieved a pm, so great success.
Now that the whole of the cpcwiki membership that have read this thread know how to enable mentions, I would say that you do not need to spend the $15 on this.
