FULL AJAX INTEGRATION:
Finally, the most requested feature, full ajax integration! Now your users won't have to wait until page is reloaded in order to Like a post, it's going to be done instantly, your like would be added to the list and the total likes of the topic is going to be increased and your like is already counted in the list of messages with likes! It's great, fast and wonderful!
NEW DESIGN:
Design has been redone, it looks a lot better now, it's a lot nicer now, to matches perfectly with Curve and other themes, and now it includes curves, everything is done with CSS so it's easily customizable. The design of the list of likes of a topic has been tweaked too, now it shows the avatar of the poster and the number of likes is bigger now to easily see which mod is popular.
LIKES IN FIRST POST ONLY PER BOARD:
Now you can set in which boards Likes are going to be only allowed in first post, in non-selected boards likes will be allowed normally, this allows you to control this system even more! As an example of it I've enabled this feature only in this board, in this section only first post can receive a Like, all other posts won't be able to.
SORT OF LIKES:
As the main idea of this system is find the most useful posts in each topic, now likes are sorted to do it even easily, now when you click into the Likes counter of a topic, you'll see the posts with more likes first allowing you to easily find the post that solves the issue of the topic. It's a nice and little tweak that has a big impact in the regular use of this mod.
These heart symbols are "kitschig". That's toooo much imo.
I also preferred the Thumbs-up. On the MyLittlePonyWiki they might not look out of place though.

Likes were never anonymous, MacDeath :D In case you hadn't noticed, you could click on the Likes button and it would tell you the users who Liked the post!
@Steve: no dislike system, been discussed before - no point in inciting passions :D

Well, I didn't know that either. I wouldn't have spent so much likes else. If everybody can see your name you think twice before you like - especially with that pony-love-heart symbol :laugh:

Maybe he's trying to take the "easy way out" due to the current economic crisis and his 2nd-hand CPC business is going down the tubes! As a dislike button it's superb, the Like one could be with a thumbs up instead of shooting-himself addition.
However, the problem is that icons must be 16x16. I could possibly tweak the css to work with wider ones, but certainly not taller...

Yes it is, and yes I know, but no, I'm not nitpicking :p
There seems to be some confusion over which Like Button goes to which member, several times this has happened to myself! :blank: People will start blaming me for taking credit for their comments! ??? I don't know how you can fix this, I guess if went under the members avatar it would save the confusion, though that maybe something only the writers/designers for this board can do! :(
I definitely don't know what you're talking about.
I think he means the fact that when a post is in the middle of a thread, there is a like button above and below the post. The upper one is the correct one for the post of course, but I have also pressed the wrong one on occassions. Still, it's easy to unlike / re-like and correct the mistake, and I haven't yet been accused of "stealing" anyones comments :D

Yes, on most colour schemes it's quite obvious, but for some reason, I still expect the "Like", "Quote" etc to be under a post, not at the top.

I see your point, but this would be a waste of space.
Take a look; at the top of the post you already have some white space because of the title and details of the post, so it makes sense to use the right side for the rest of the options.
If you move it downstais you've got to add another row to the post's table, thus needing more space and actually ending up having twice the wasted space.
Could it not be on to the line where "Report to Moderator" etc is?

Not easily, because there's admin stuff down there for those with elevated access. What's more, I think it's grouped nicely as it is. Finally, in cases of a user who uses signatures it would mean that the Like button would be smack on the centre of a post - not very tidy...
Unfortunately I cannot post a screenshot without pointing the finger at somebody else which is unfair. Though people are still coming to my posts clicking the Like Button on them and praising others for the good work they have done! :-[
The only solution I can think of is to write back to SMF or whoever design this board and reposition the Link Button so it clearly shows next to that Users details (Avatar, Number of posts, etc), but even then it's not going to resolve this problem overnight, it would merely inform them that the Like Button is in a Bad spot and people are being Liked for all the wrong reasons! :(
I don't know why anyone would take offense at "pointing fingers" (???!) but it doesn't matter.
Positioning the Like button next to the avatar would be simply wrong; you Like the *post*, not the poster.
I suggest dropping this discussion; if nothing else, by now we should be aware of where the button is, so if you can't click on it correctly, well, no cookie for you :p
If 'people' are getting annoyed at other people getting a superfluous & meaningless number against their profile instead of them, then maybe we should get rid of LIKEs against users and/or posts and only like THREADs. Or even no LIKEs at all!
Personally, I've only got so many LIKEs against my profile because I steal other people's code/graphics/music/talent! It wouldn't bother me if I had none... they mean nothing anyway. But, to some people they obviously mean something special!
A poll on the subject, maybe?
It would be possible to Like a thread only, but personally I have found that thre are several occasions when I only Like a certain post in a thread.
