The link maybe don't work because each link has it's own hash code.

Ack... and I was looking for an Amiga browser last night, to try and surf!!!

Btw, anyone has a good pre-set environment that can work with WinUAE? Once upon a time there was AiaB, but what's new?

Cheers

PS Btw, if there's an Amiga browser in there but not an Amiga OS it means it falls under Not Defined, probably?
PS2 can you edit your theme settings now, guys?

Bryce

Cool, the themes work now. I've chosen ModernDark64, which will increase the battery life of my laptop by approx. 3 Minutes :D

Bryce.

Gryzor

Yeah, I saw the stats of the theme, will try to alter the logo. However, it won't change your battery life a bit, since it doesn't matter how light or dark your screen is - the lamps behind the panel are still on...

robcfg

I guess that surfing the wiki with NetSurf on Acorn RiscPC machines fall also in the undefined category...  :P

I didn't really think it would improve my battery life!! I just prefer dark screens.
Oh and Gryzor, what's a "Spider" ? (In the "users online" bit)

Bryce.

Yes, it's very glitchy.

Well, I've been writing something, not just leaned back and waited.
Enter a line-break (via SHIFT+ENTER, since ENTER doesn't work well anymore), after typing/editing text for while, the good "shift+enter" linebreak suddenly turns into a faulty "enter" linebreak. Don't know how (un-)stable that bug is implemented, so can't promise that you can reproduce it.

Gonna switch on my Amiga when I get the time. Good opportunity to reload the RTC battery.  8)

Btw.: AWeb II is bundled with AmigaOS 3.9 and there are newer versions out there. Quite a useful browser if you can cope with the limited capabilities of the Amiga. I don't think we will get anything similar on the CPC, but IRC would be nice and useful. I can imagine having the CPC running near my PC for occasional chatting.

New modification added: now, in the tabs row on top (Home, Help, Search...) there is a new tab, "Unread". I'm trying to delete the "Show Unread posts" underneat the "Hello User" line and use this, it's more streamlined...
Also, there is an RSS feeder extension for the wiki available. What this does it show, in-page, the rss feed of another site. Does anyone think there would be a good use for it?

I was only able to read this post after finding out the hard way. At first I thought my browser was making problems and klicked around to make the "show unread posts" reappear. It would have been a good idea to announce this change beforehand. I guess a lot of people will be confused. at least there are only technical people in this forum who should be able to figure it out.  ;)

Hmmm, I don't know any feeds that could be of use there.

Gryzor

Yeah, apologies for that, indeed I should have made the change more prominent...

As for the feeds, this extension was meant for the wiki proper, not the forum. I thought there could, perhaps, be a News section on the front page, with the feeds from other sites...?

I understood that, but would other sites should go in there? Maybe Octoate's Blog?

Grim

+1 for Octoate's blog (if he is ok with that).

Gryzor

Heheh yes, of course the owners would have to give their ok if we want to be upfront with this... :)
Any other sites?

Gryzor

Btw, I think I fixed the "Logo pointing to the Wiki home" issue.

They have made it easier in the last version to change this. And although with the next update the change will be lost, it's easy enough to re-do.

However, here at work the logo doesn't show up. I don't know if this was the case before - could anyone confirm?

robcfg

I can see the logo and it points to www.cpcwiki.eu, as it should be.

BTW, using Chrome on win XP.

Bryce

It only points to the correct address if you are using the default theme (or not logged in). If I log in, where I have chosen an alternative skin, the link is still incorrect.

Bryce.

Gryzor

Tsk, tsk, Bryce! As if I haven't said already that modifications are not applied to other themes :)

Bryce

I know, but that doesn't mean I can't complain about it anyway :D

Bryce.

Gryzor

You grumpy old man, you...

ukmarkh

We need a CPC WIKI change board... don't get me wrong, I love new stuff, but it shouldn't just happen on a whim. What if the changes made would have broken CPC WIKI, do you have a recent backup to restore from???

Change is only good if everyone is kept informed prior to the change and all the risks have been properly assessed.

Gryzor

...what on earth are you referring to? :D
