Hello guys,
I just realised that a whole lot of files, including the latest batch of cpr files, have been uploaded to the wiki as .cpr . Which means, 256KB. This is happening a lot with .dsk and .hfe files, too.
Come on people, is it so hard to compress them? a RAR or a ZIP file would take probably two seconds of your time and save us 3/4s of the original size!
Yeah, it's not like we're going to run out of space from them, but let's try and keep things tidy and tight.
So, please...
Thanks,
T
PS Just queried the db, there are 145MB of uncompressed files. I think if these were compressed it would've saved us around 100-110MB, easily, in the forum alone...
On a slightly related note: Have you recently reduced the total size allowed for multiple files per post? In the past I could upload several hi-res pictures to a single post, when I tried to do this lately it told me I had gone above the limit.
Bryce.
I don't think so... let me check.
No, the limits are 10 attachments/1,5MB per attachment/1,5MB total. It was always the same btw. You think I should up it?
No it's ok. Maybe the other files were smaller back then. I reduced their size slightly and all was ok.

Oops, too late :) I raised it to 2MB/2MB/15!
That's ok too :) If I'm home in time I'll be uploading some photos of the restored Rombo :)
Bryce.
Anything to motivate you :D
