Just wondered if the clock on the server could be put right. I don't think it really matters what timezone it's in, but currently it seems to be at Greece + 10 minutes which makes things very confusing... ;)

Gryzor

Well, if you mean the 10 min difference, apologies, will fix it when I get to my PC where I've got the shell connection set up. If you mean the Greece time... well, what would be "correct"? :D

No plugin to pull the system time from the user?

Sorry, yeah, I wasn't clear. I was never really sure what timezone the server was supposed to be in, all I knew is that if I looked at a post I didn't really have any clue when it was actually posted. It was only when I sat down and worked out it was 2:11 away from me, I figured it was probably Greece time, just 10 minutes out.

My simple brain can cope with adding number to the hours but not minutes it seems! :)

Also, missed that... Thanks :)

Gryzor

Not a problem, thanks for letting me know. The server is probably TOO FAST and I'll have to turn the clock back again in a few months :D

So based on the theory of relativity all the wiki users are travelling faster than the server ...  ???

BTW, thanks for the correction! +1/-1 hour is easy, but adding/subtracting ~ 50+ minutes is just weird.

Not precisely, but we *are* traveling FTL when we're logged on. A proof of that is that we're becoming kids or teenagers playing with CPCs, hasn't it occured to you? :)

Alas no, but maybe it was because I was playing Wizball on the C64 instead of the CPC last night?  :P

Pennies are added to the pendulum weight that drives the clock of Big Ben in London to keep the time accurate, maybe the wiki server clock needs donations to keep it accurate as well?

Gryzor

Isn't it going to be renamed for a certain Queen or something? This should cover it for, oh, 200 years or so :D

steve

The clock tower is to be renamed the Elizabeth Tower, Big Ben is the popular name of the main bell in the tower, I do not know if the clock itself has a name.

Gryzor

So it'll be the Liz tower, containing the Big Ben and an anonymous clock?

Kind of ridiculous of you ask me :D
