Hi There

Anyone had success in using the multiple file upload feature!

It seems to reject any file i try to upload using this feature..

I know Gryzor writes that the form doesn't work, when put in the sidebar!

But if i try to run it directly from this link:

http://cpcwiki.eu/index.php/Special:MultipleUpload

It still doesn't work! :o

What am I doing wrong?

Hi

I have had the same problem!!

Is there a way to upload multiple or large files directly, like a FTP!

If so how does this integrate into the wiki?

It seems CPCMANICO is somehow able to upload large files.

I sent the big files by email to Gryzor.

And when he could upload on the ftp of the CPCwiki and send me by email the links.

And then I put the links on the pages of the CPCwiki.

Hmmm sorry I missed this posts before guys - the system failed to notify me.

Anyway, when I installed it, it ran fine for me... I will test it again.

What error do you get? And, do you get the same error when trying to upload the same file through the single file form?

FTP, alas, wouldn't work so well. I did upload all those big files through ftp, but because these are not uploaded through the mediawiki's function, they are not registered in the wiki's db. Therefore, they don't appear in any lists etc, and you have to link to them with external links (eg [http://cpcwiki.eu/manuals/test.pdf Test Manual] ).

As I said, I will take another look.

About the size - believe me, I have looked high and low, tried it time and again, and I'm pretty convinced that mediawiki is broken in that regard :(

Hi Gryzor

I get this error when trying to use the multiple file upload script :-(

Gryzor

Hmmmm, yes, I saw it, and it seems it's more complicated than I thought... will take a look...

Ok, after learning more about PHP I'd care about, the news is not good... MultiUploader is simply not compatible with the current (1.11) version of MediaWiki! So, short of reverting to an older version (never done that, so I don't know what problems it might produce), we'll wait for an updated version. The author did tell me one will be coming, so... patience... :(

Hi Gryzor

No problem, thanks for your effort! :)

I will simply upload using the normal mechanism until an update is ready!

Thanks for your understanding and for all your contributions!

The author told me that the multi-uploader goes (as would be expected) through the normal upload function of MW. However, in 1.11 this routine got broken, so he's now talking with the MW developer responsible for this function in order to find a solution. Here's hoping!
