Hi together,

as I found too many server problems here on cpc-live.com, I decide to order a new, more powerful server.

What does this mean for Wiki & forum?
- The old Wiki (http://cpcwiki.eu ) will be available for the next weeks
- I cannot backup it!!! (I hope, Gryzor still has the backup from last time)
- I also can't backup the Wiki database!!! (one of the server problems  ??? )
- I can backup the forum
- The domain will change, too

Does it mean that all the edits which were done during the last days / weeks are lost? Isn't there any way to back it up (at least your hosting provider should be able to access the DB and the webspace)?

Yes/No

Yes: The last modifications will be lost
No: My Provider cannot backup the database. Server is corrupt.

New Forum is already here:

Urgs. Well, no server can be so corrupt that it can not be backed up when it still runs. And: MySQL has nice repair tools for corrupt tables. However, I guess that this is not included in the normal server fees.

Hmmm ok. Could you not back it up like any other website temporarily to make it easier to transfer some data when it is fixed? It should be possible to backup the latest text pages added in this way?

The problem here is:
All content is stored into a SINGLE!!! database table  ??? ??? ???

phpMyAdmin does not allow me to export files larger than 3mb  ??? ??? ???

The website is on an automated server, so a manual export by my provider is not possible, too.

The table "text" is too large for me to export:

The situation is this: the current host has many, many limitations as it seems, so Markus decided to wave good-bye.

In what concerns the wiki: one of the limitations is that they don't have good customer service, and we can't get the database to properly back it up. So we'll use an older backup. The changes in the WIKI section covering the past month or so will be lost on the new wiki, BUT I will recreate them manually, so NOTHING WILL BE LOST. Only change will be that those articles will not be attributed to their proper contributors. Apologies about that...

The FORUM section is already up and running, as you can see, and almost nothing (well, maybe a couple of last-minute posts or PMs) was lost.

I hope this is clear enough, and apologies if the changes happened so fast. On the other hand, I believe the change was as seamless as possible...

Cheers
Gryzor
