The CPC demo-scene needs more CPC+ demos and it's good to see people are still considering it as a viable demo-making machine.
Top job!

Ast

Thanks for your feedback. Cpc+ is really a great machine. I only regret there isn't many people to use it.

The DMA music on the second part is superb. I'm jealous of those lead sounds.

Ast

You'll probably Know this kind of music. It's called Sid Voice and comes from Atari ST.

Yes I do, but it's shame that I can't use it on my cpc music.

Devilmarkus

Cool demo! And cool composition of effects and music.

Now I need to fix my online CPC+ emulator to make it working... *grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr* ;)

Anyone any idea, why this happens?

Good old Amstrad PLUS never fails when it comes to Raster time and extra coloured fine pixels.

and because it is still an Amstrad, Fullscreen and sweet AY sounds and the best palettes in 8bit world.

full screen Mode0 is great... the extra resolution (Fullscreen) makes the wide pixels pass visually, and the "Amiga/STE" palette is still more than actually needed (= perfect).

Merci AsT (and the rest).

I quite like the "vertical lines ditherings in mode1" effects/design/style.

I will test it on real hardware soon (lots of stormy weather this day, I won't plug my old machines)

Also I see BDC Iron is somewhat back.

gerald

Really nice on emulator, but does not work on my real 6128+ with 3 1/2" drive.
You've been really aggressive on step pulses  :o
I've tested 3 different drives (sony, alps, yedata), same results.

Note that get dexter 2 does the same ::) and do not work on 3 1/2" (at least for me)

fkey

Thanks all for your feedback, glad to make you happy  :D
@Gerald : I'll prepare a file version so that you'll be able to load it (just need a bit of time as I'm full this we).

Cheers.

@Ast: I am interested in the tool that can be used to create raster images, especially in mode 2.
Where can I download it?

This one:
Extra Coloured Maker 2 (or Extra Ced Maker 2)
My games. My Games
My website with coding examples: Unofficial Amstrad WWW Resource

I think it's a shame that grown men continue to act like children and insist on disrespecting one another. When you have such a small community like ours, it's counter-productive to have smarmy and offensive things to say about each other. You guys might think it's funny and "all part of the demo community", but a lot of people really don't like it.

If I was a new scener wanting to join the CPC and continue the work that Rhino started with Batman Forever, saw the out-reach programme started by P'n'P and witnessed the battles between Longshot & Rhino, Hicks's "War Begins" and then all of this unnecessary peacocking, I'd think twice about looking at the CPC to code on. As it is, I've decided to stop any form of productions on CPC, it's simply not worth it. I'm happy to help other people (with CATart, code proof-reading, testing, etc) but have no intention of bettering my own ability.

Let's hope the CPC scene has a renaissance and wakes up!

You know, I personally don't care. I don't care cause if you enjoy what you do, if you enjoy doing it, no one can take that away from you. People may or not like what you do, but you did it. You took the time and effort to do it, you put love on it and something good came out of it. Some people will like it, some people will bash it, some people would not even care. But your work is there.

These fights between "sceners" sometimes have a lot of sides. Rivarly, frienship, hate, envy. I don't care, really not of my business. I only care about the work and art of those groups and individuals, about what they create on the cpc.

Let's keep creating new stuff for our beloved computers, folks.

You're right, I shouldn't really care.

Sykobee (Briggsy)

It's a nice demo, at least graphically (watched at work, no sound). Sure, there are a bunch of standard effects, and a large reliance on the hardware sprites of the plus to achieve many of the overlay effects, but it's a darned sight more than I've done, it looks good, and it mimics very closely many early Amiga demos which were animating ball-figures over a background image with copper effects, and that's got to be applauded.

beaker

Don't know anything about the technical aspects but looks and sounds great... well impressed  :)

Bienvenue en France.

All this started because in 1989 someone stole a disk from another guy who kissed another's else girlfriend... oh wait, are we talking about amstrad Scene in 1989 ?
Forget about it, just a virgin disk rape most probably.

I'll happily admit to never being the worlds biggest demo fan, so taken with a pinch of salt (also I've only watched the YouTube versions, I will give it a go on real hardware at the weekend if I get time!) I think it's an OK demo, but nothing all that outstanding (certainly not on par with the Batman one, for example).
Nicer choice of colours aside, it doesn't really seem to show off much that's especially difficult to do with the extra hardware in the Plus. I really want to see some demos that push a little harder, showing of the same old effects that have been seen over and over (albeit with a few hardware sprites over the top) isn't enough to impress. If it had the kind of artistic style that was seen in the Batman demo it might be a different matter, but as it stands it doesn't really have that sense of cohesion that might elevate it over the myriad of other demos out there.
Hopefully though it's a sign that more people are looking to the Plus and what it can do, so the next production can only get better.  :)
