"Scream and Scream Again....."
O I like this.........play loud.........

German digitised sound demo likely from the early nineties,  the samples sound better quality than the usual "metalic screech" but that could be down simply to the fact they don't feature any actual speech.
After a little digging it seems that this was the program used to creat the samples:

Not emulated - original hardware and software.
Please note that  the aspect ratio for this YouTube video is 16:9 but the CPC monitor
has an aspect ratio of 4:3 so you may wish to adjust your viewing device accordingly.

I thought so too.
It ocurred to me that it would be even more effective with a little simple animation.

The gallows:

Show the gallows and then open a smallish rectangular white area (door) in the bottom right of the screen, within that door show two black stick figures pulling a third toward his doom - cue scream.

The shower:
Show shower curtain shut then open - cue scream.

Screen swapping might be adequate for that type of effect.
