Title: SID player on CPC 128k
Post by: TomEtJerry on 22:17, 26 December 11
Hi,

Geco, a well known "Enterprise" programmer, has just release a .SID player for this nice computer. Then, he has the great idea to do a CPC conversion of it ! So, even if this release is a little bit uneasy to use, enjoy it.

Some useful information :

Choose a file : cursor keys + Enter
Choose a tune : joystick and fire to go back to the directory menu.

If you want to hear other SID files than the ones copied onto the disk, transfer them as ASCII files (easy to do with ManageDSK).

If you want to congratulate Geco for this job, you can contact him on the http://enterpriseforever.com (http://enterpriseforever.com/)  forum.

Thanks!!! Hervé, another time. Very intestesting.

I always liked your CPC music works, software... (and news)
The spanish CPC scene new magazine [number  four (http://amstrad.es/publicaciones/publicaciones/rua/index.html#02e26998a11234d06)] talks about your TsP ;) : The soundtrackker Player (AYC capable...  :) )

Very amazing tool!
...it shows on an other way what is possible with the AY. Some SIDs sounds pretty good. Also interesting the direct comparison of some sound (e.g. Rob Hubbards Dragons Lair 2 on a original CPC and the SID<>AY convert). Some are not possible (Chris Huelsbecks Giana Sisters > may be due to of his sample sounds? or Wizball).
Ben Daglish Last Ninja is partly great. I like the tool!!!

Not sure about the purpose of it (currently listening to Auf Wiedersehen Monty, sounds quite off naturally), but hey, it's cool! :D
