First of all, know that many graphists don't come here often (especially in august).
Second, no one knows you and what you are capable of, plus the various threads you created were interpreted negatively.

My advice is to create a short, maybe simple, but good demo, on your own, to show you're capable of finishing a serious project. There are many tools to convert gfxs correctly. Then, I'm pretty sure people will be more eager to collaborate with you. But first things first, build yourself a reputation by coding, coding, coding and releasing!

targhan: i am the typical programmer with zero aesthetic skills  :o  so it is hard to make a good demo with awful graphics and colors or with converted only graphics. in my opinion, it will ruin all the work i put in the code. that is why i asked for graphical help. i understand your argument about showing what i am capable of but i think that as no demos were released sinces months, is it a real risk for an artist to help me?
also i saw some graphic artists visiting the forum this month  ::)
and it is a reason why i was looking for a discord channel visited by cpc demomakers  :-*

What Targhan said. Also, perhaps you need to be a bit specific regarding what you need.

rexbeng: i need at least one overscan picture, one or two logos, and some colors advices.

Then you need more than a graphist, you also need someone that is good in design. Which needs even more involvement from someone who doesn't know you and what you're capable of. I'm afraid no one will follow you unless they know more about you. I believe the only realistic way is, for your first demo, either do everything on your own, or bring along one of your C64 colleague (It would bring a fresh eye on CPC !).

You have to understand. You're asking someone to give up their time to work with you for nothing other than credit. These are the same people who have had to turn down projects with people who have already established probably due to lack of time or whatever.

In short, you can't *make* people work with you if they're not interested.

Comments like this aren't helping and will only serve to discourage people whos help you're asking.

Just my 2 cents worth.

There is this recent demo (https://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=87509) made, I believe, by former C64 sceners, with a very interesting design. Maybe get in touch with them to help you on that regard?

But I still believe you should create one or two in-your-face outstanding effects in a simple, short, and if possible original demo, just to prove the world you mean serious business! After that people will flock to work with you.

That doesn't matter. If you can show that you have good skills, people are willing to spend their time to work with you.

As i wrote in a previous post that was not approved by a moderator (yes i am still moderated), i do not need so much graphics: at least one overscan picture, one logo and colors advices.

targhan: if i came to cpc, my goal is to work with cpc demomakers. if the plan is to work with c64 people, i should maybe stay on c64. also you told me to do some outstanding effects but you forgot that i am a beginner on cpc  :o  i do the best i can but you can not expect very much from me!

eto: my main effect needs an overscan picture and a logo. my effect can not work without them.

to all: i am a serious guy who will finish my project and will release it. if a graphic artist dares to work with me, it will not be for nothing. is the only solution to prove that i deverve some attention is to post here my demo with jerky memory instead of graphics? i think that it would be a big waste.

also, same problem with music.

Another solution: i am pretty sure that some graphic artists have finished pictures that were never released. Why not giving one of them to me?

And same for music.

You think it the wrong way. Working on CPC with people from another scene IS a strength, because it presents a totally different aesthetic, which makes the demo all the more outstanding. As you noticed, the CPC is a small scene, productive people are already working on their project(s) and no, they won't probably work for an unknown guy, you have to understand that.

As for the "outstanding" effect, it is very possible to create great, new effects with a limited technical knowledge. The most innovative effects these last years are actually based on line-by-line screen spitting, a technique known for 30 years, with clever precalculated data. Including the Batman Demo you're so fond of!

Musicians are easier to find than graphists, as (probably) less work is involved.

targhan: come on, i can not believe that no graphic artist have an unreleased picture that he could give me. if this picture is already done, what has the graphic artist to lose?

also, you are musician, have you some time to make a music for me?

Here is an OVERSCAN PICTURE and a LOGO, as requested.
They are in MODE 0 and fit exactly in 16 PENs.

You remember this when you become an artist/creator.
The bang of entitlement is strong with this one. You'll go far!  :picard:

Yes, but what I meant was that you could have posted your two previous messages via PM, since they were not really meant to be public messages.

When I don't want to bother artists or I am too shy to ask, I procedurally generate my gfx :P
