This demo wouldnt be out of place on an Amiga it really is that good.

To think its coming from an 8bit is mind blowing.

And this demo runs perfectly on a completely standard CPC6128...it is great to watch on a real machine...

I had read those rules on pouet and got scared a bit. I hope it doesn't affect the final results negatively, because I know Batman Forever is so much awesome that there wasn't really a need for a thread asking us for voting (I had already casted my vote before reading this thread). Two years ago, From Scratch appeared in the Public's Choice award without much propaganda and this surprised me even, because nobody knew the CPC so well then and people always vote for the most popular PC demos in this category. So, Batman Forever could easilly get a lot of votes without the calls for action.


Then, who can decide what is excessive advertisement and what is not? With which criteria would they decide to kill votes? Or was this rule only applied because of the Razor controversy?


p.s. This even happens in big contests like Eurovision and votes are not killed. I didn't believe it when Lordi won the contest then, because who could have voted? Little girls who care about Eurovision? Or metalheads who suddenly cared about eurovision because there was a lot of blogs/media asking to vote for Lordi just for a change. It was obvious there was mass manipulation then. Well, at least it was awesome, I loved to see the impossible though and I was happy they won

I can't remember seeing such a rule last year, but I wasn't actually looking for the rules last year. I didn't have a SceneID, didn't care to have one and  I wasn't going to vote! Ignorance, in this instance, is not bliss.

We don't know who it was, but someone sure did what I described above (shockingly, we have logs of votes and we can see the account-ages of SceneIDs used to vote -- marvels of modern technology! , and while we don't know who were behind it, it was being done.

I don't know about a lot of people here, but my SceneID is just as old as this year's Public Choice Awards! (ie a few weeks)
Let's hope they don't investigate Batman Forever's victory over those PC demos in August! ^_^


EDIT: Actually, if you read down that page a little more, Melwyn has put a stop to the argument so it looks like we're ok! He says that they found no discrepancies with the first round voting, so everything stays as it is! Batman Forever will still win! Hehehehe!
