Hello from Revision!

We finally managed to release our Wake up! demo.

Feel free to find it here: http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=59073

..and do not forget that voting for/against us doesn't cost you something ;)

Hope you enjoy it!

Very nice demo! Brilliant music by McKlain and DMA-SC! Some interesting palette choices; really using the whole spectrum of available colours there! However, now that you guys have finally finished (and officially released) WAKE UP, is there any chance of us seeing a polished BLOC US at some point?

Anyway! WAKE UP 100% should win, though it's a close thing between this and that amazing GBC demo (Cenotaph by Dual Crew Shining). The music on that demo was almost as good as Reed's OLDSKOOL EXECUTABLE MUSIC entry! Wonderful stuff!

Again, top job! And... ... AMSTRAD CONTINUES!

First of all, thank you all for your positive feedback on our demo. It's nice to find out that you enjoy it, since you are also a part of the scene! :)

I do not know whether we'll win or not, but for sure CPC is much more famous than it was before Revision. I do not know if there will be any newcomers, but there are a lot of people asking information about our machine! Even the room, during the speech of Krusty in the seminar, was full with people!

Although it's a bit early at the moment to discuss this topic, and since we prefer not to give promises that might not be fulfilled, there has been a long conversation between me and Krusty in order to decide whether we will polish Bloc Us or not! The good news is that we both intend to work on and polish it sometime... However, you know how it is... When you publish a production, even if it's unpolished due to the deadline submission for example, you kinda do not wanna return back to it and just do something else... So, let me comment that perhaps there will be a newer release of BU sometime in the (near or not) future ;)

In any case, and in order to keep your eyes in the Revision stream-channel, I'd say to check the 4k Oldschool compo, starting at 23.00 GMT+1. ! BND all the way to the top!

See you,

Great effect, very nice transitional effects, and a good overall effort. Especially the first few effects did a good impression. The picture of the girl in the bed was nice and had me laugh out loud! :) The credits effect was done well, and I can't remember that it's been done before.

There is just one demo that could compete, and that is the GBC demo. I'd say Wake Up! beats it; the C64 demos do not come even close - also because the C64 effects had been done before and better. And the Amiga demo was bland (though well executed).

krusty did well, although 8 minutes maximum is far too little time. There's need for a one hour presentation to give the crowds a hint of what is possible to do.

Happy to read that you enjoyed our demo so much! It's really motivating to read these words by another CPC scener! As for the girls that we had in our demo, we thought that we have to show as many boobs as we can in order to have chances to win in the compo :)

We'll know the final result by tomorrow morning at around 9 i think... Let's see if we will write another page in the CPC history!

The presentation by Krusty was really funny and very informative at the same time. Next time, I will persuade him to reserve more time ;)

That demo hasn't been uploaded to pouet yet, but here it is...

Great work by the Benediction guys here. Definitely a great demo and good for raising interest in CPC - there were lots of people at Revision who know little about the CPC and it got a good reception and Krusty's presentation giving an overview of the CPC was quite well attended. :)

Hi again,

I know that Nyancat has a lot of fans in this forum, but you know that we hate it! So, we decided to burn it in a small 4k!

Find our 4k submission to Revision2012 here: http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=59108

Feel free to let us know your opinion!

See you,

PS. Reed's music was indeed amazing!

McKlain

I saw it live, really amazing 4K demo!  ;D

Still, I made the music for the cpc nyancat version, so I have contradictory feelings about burning the pop tart cat  ;D

Of course, there is nothing personal against the people who worked for the CPC or any other versions; we just wanted to let the people know that we hate this cat, and only the cat :)

You also composed the main music for WU! Perhaps this fact will make these contradictory feelings go away!
see you,
v.

Simply brilliant again! Two demos, two wins! The only way is up for the CPC!

Music was done by Factor6/Hooy Program, by the looks of things.
Nice tune by him!

EDIT: /I iz dum\ It says on the screen after the NYANCAT burn! Oooops! Sorry! I thought that was Chinese or something!

MaV

I'm a cat lover. But you can burn the Nyan cat anyway you want, if it's on the sacred altar of CPC demos. ;)

Truly impressive 4k demo. That one must be the winner!!!

4k? how??

Thank you for these nice words - appreciate them ;)

But what you are trying to say about the screen after Nyancat's burning?

I am sorry but i can't help you here! Krusty only knows ;)

Stop that nyan cat! Amstrad CPC 4K

burn kitty burn !!!! purge the unclean !
Destroy the herekitty...

Also... oh, another plasma...again...

Anyway, would be great to get many prizes for the Amstrad, and those are solid production too.

I mean, If you look at the Revision site... there is no mention about the Amstrad CPC, implying they don't even recognize it...

I though Germans had those... oh yeah, those were Schneiders...

Also Demoscene was so into Speccy and C64 during all those years that the CPC scene has to (re)conquer some sunny place after all those years.

Anyway, concenring the Wake Up demo...
the wave effect (at 2:58) seems to be in mode0... but could have been done in Mode1 (3 colours used on screen).

Why ?
Was it simpler to animate the wave with  a lower resolution ?

Does any of you have a capture of the demo playing live on the party, like this one?

I wonder how it sounded with that big sound system  ;D
