"Data SS 80" disc format in Winape

I'm probably asking a silly question, but I've looked around everywhere, and can't figure it out.

if I want to use a disc image in "Data SS 80" format, how do use this in Winape? Parados doesn't seem able to read it correctly, and I've read Amsdos can only do 40 tracks.

I'm assuming there is a way - otherwise why would Winape offer to create them.

Could someone point me in the right direction, and stop me feeling so silly!

Use your own track change routine (and read)

I vaguely remember some setup params for some formats under parados.

Have you tried changing the params with the |DRIVE RSX util? You have to force SS and 80

I haven'tt any emu on hand now. Will try later at home...

I haven't tested it on winape but it should work no problem.

Yes! I had to use the DRIVE command!

I set tracks to 80, and enabled ELECTRO formats - and it seems to work now!

Thanks for the help.

I've just found this document which I should have read before asking silly questions:

Hi Keith,

I'm a bit late to the party with this reply, but, I'd suggest you use one of the ROMDOS or ParaDOS SS 80 formats rather than DATA format. It's really only still in ParaDOS for compatibility with old Australian 80 track disc ROM formats.
