Title: JavaCPC Error
Post by: Travis P on 12:56, 26 March 10
I am having problems starting the JavaCPC on my laptop and on the main PC, both are working under XP. The error message is "The JVM could not be started. The main method may have thrown an exception"

Does anybody know how to remove the error and get it working?

Thanx DevilMarkus

The .exe file doesn't work at all
The .jar   file works fine

The .jar will not work fine...
Perhaps it opens and starts but you will not have much fun with it (EXE increases available memory)
Try again the EXE please. Or isnt there also a .jnlp file? if yes, start the .jnlp

Try to launch the .jar with following parameters:
-Xms512m -Xmx512m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m

JavaCPC.jar -Xms512m -Xmx512m   -XX:MaxPermSize=512m works fine

Good... So you can create a BAT file to launch it ;)

P.S.: It's highly recommended that you use "Desktop" variant.
If you already choosen "normal" you can change it in the option dialog which opens up on startup.
The emulator is not ready yet so some functions will not work in classic windowed version.

JavaCPC.jar -Xms512m -Xmx512m   -XX:MaxPermSize=512m works fine

You should only need to increase the maximum memory:

JavaCPC.jar -Xmx512m

I've just downloaded JavaCPC 6.8.2.0 beta: Now the .exe works! Strange, isn't it?
