Hello,
I would really like to play some old Amstrad CPC using the Atari 2600 joystick I played with in the 80's.
Would anyone be able to advise me on the PC emulators that support the use of this joystick using the adapter found at: http://www.retronicdesign.com/en/ (http://www.retronicdesign.com/en/)
Thanks !
Well, after the obligatory comment of why would you want to use one of the worst joysticks ever used (iconic status aside), I guess it's like all those adapters: it presents a modern, USB joystick to the PC, so the emulator won't know any difference...?
Hey, careful. The Atari CX40 is one of my favourite sticks!

For beating eggs?
...the only joystick worse than the CX40 that I've used was, I think, this:
[attach=2]
And, of course, it was a (bad) copy pf the Atari original.
You mean playing Dizzy? :D

You automatically win the argument :D
Oh there was a lot worse than those two: I present the BBC Acorn Dual Analogue Josticks. By far the most unusable, uncomfortable Joystick that I ever had the misfortune to have in my hand. Acorn managed to take the word "Joy" out of Joystick!

Why? They don't look that bad?!
The indents that look like they are for your fingers is actually the side that goes into the palm of your hand. They are much bigger than they look too. Even a adult hand would have a problem getting to the fire button. After two minutes of playing, those sharp corners have already stopped the blood from getting to your thumb.

Aha :D Ok, understood, I don't wanna touch one!
...once again, King of the sticks.

Yup, had to be said.
But by now we're way off-topic.

I know but I couldn't resist.
You can make your own adapter!!
